A Great Quote

Joyce Meyer said this today, and I thought it was a wonderful quote:

"We need to learn how to live so we don't need a miracle."

She put my thoughts into words perfectly! If we learn how to live (not just in health, but in all areas of life: finances, relationships, fear, etc.), we don't have to depend on medication or prayer for a miracle. We need to start living life the way God intended.

John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Lord, please teach us how to live a healthy life so that we may walk in divine health. For it is in Your Name we pray. Amen

I have heard this quote before, and I do agree with what you are saying about putting your finances and stuff like that in God's hands and trusting Him completely. But I also believe that I should expect miracles everyday. I think it is a miracle that I wake up everyday, that I (and my family) make it to work safely everyday, and that the sun shines and the moon comes up everday.

I understand your point in this quote, but when I first heard the quote, I thought we should expect miracles everyday, because everyday we are alive is a miracle to me.

Anyways, I thought you might like to hear a different view of the quote. And I do like Joyce Meyer very much. Thanks for reading and God bless!!

I totally understand what you're saying. I agree. We SHOULD expect miracles every day. I know my family and I do. However, the context of this quote was directed at our lifestyles. How many people do you know that mismanage their finances and then pray for a miracle with their money? How many people do you know that eat McDonalds three times a week, eat other processed food and sweets, drink a gallon of sweet tea or Coke a day, and fail to exercise but pray for a miracle when they wish they could lose weight? How many people do you know that do absolutely nothing to live a healthy lifestyle but pray to God for a miracle when they get sick?
Don't get me wrong. I ABSOLUTELY believe in miracles and expect them daily; however, the Bible also says that we are to "honor our temples" and to "manage our flocks".
Think of it this way, it's kind of like pouring gasoline on your burning house and asking God for a miracle to stop the fire. Can God stop the fire? ABSOLUTELY! Will He? I don't know. I guess you can try it and see.
For me, this quote all comes down to honoring what God gave us. Proverbs 14:1 says, "The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down." I just think we should live wisely. ABSOLUTELY believe in and expect miracles, however, also take responsibility for yourself as well. Live wise! :)
Thank you for sharing your opinion. Again, I TOTALLY see your point and agree...to a degree. :) Thanks for stopping by and for contributing your opinion! BLESSINGS! =)

One more thing...let's expect miracles together! :) We'll expect miracles in our health, finances, families, relationships...every area! While we expect miracles, let's also commit to taking care of what God gave us so that we're not constantly asking God to bail us out.
I think we all have those areas where we constantly get tripped up and need God's grace. :)(Not to say we don't need God's grace in everything...I hope you get my point).
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

I understand your viewpoint on the quote now, and I agree. I agree that your body (God's temple) should be taken care of wisely. Thanks again for reading, and blessings to you!
