Don't Let a Hospital Kill You

That is the title of a new article I found on CNN today. The article points out that, according to the CDC, 99,000 people die annually from hospital-acquired infections. In other words, people are going into hospitals for ailments, often times non-threatening, and end up dying due to an infection that they acquire IN THE HOSPITAL! It is a common misconception that hospitals are the cleanest place on earth. Rather, than are riddled with germs, germs that can cause serious, life-threatening infections.

I have a friend who was in the hospital preparing to birth her second child, and her husband found, and was stabbed by, a used needle laying on the ground (I believe it was kind of under the t.v. hutch). How scary is that?! To make matters even more serious, her oldest son (who was two at the time) was in the room playing with his cousin. What if they had been the ones to pick the needle up?

Anyway, check out this article to see ways that you can best protect yourself if you do have to be admitted into a hospital:

Here is an interesting article on Aspirin. Each story has two sides, and I think this one does a good job of expaining both. It explains the "benefits" of aspirin, and the "negative consequences" of aspirin. I thought it might interest you, because it surprised me to see both the good and bad in one article. Anyways, blessings to you!

Thank you for sharing. :)
While the article did mention some of the negative consequences of taking asprin, I don't think they covered it all. Here is an article that lists some more of the negative side effects that people could have while taking asprin:

There are more natural methods that people can use in order to avoid those possible negative side effects. I say, try those first. That's what I would do anyway. :)

Again, thanks so much for sharing! It was a good article. Most don't mention any negative side effects, which is a HUGE disservice to those who trust the Bayer commercials.

I am posting anonymous #2 -anonymous poster- from 5-1-08 I agree with you. Do you agree with this bloggers beleifs on meds and vaccinations. I agree with you in the asprin it does more good that harm IF YOU TAKE IT AS PRESCRIBED. With any medications if you dont take it as PRESCRIBED! It does do harm, but that is the persons responsibilitys to take it the right way not the medicines. But medications and Vaccines save people lives.
