More on Measles

All I can say is WOW! Barbara Loe Fisher does it again. She takes a stern look at the CDC's finger pointing and lays out loads of facts on the MMR vaccine, measles, and today's newest controversial vaccine, Gardasil. Check it out:

Gardasil Meets Measles: A Coincidence?

I read your post on Stuff Christians Like and was a little confused...read my comment made today as well with an opinion from another angle. You can't trust everything you read on the internet.

Also, I'm sure you have done lots of research on vaccines, but when it comes to Gardisil...don't be so quick to think that girls should not get it. Yes, we're not sure of all the side effects and if you plan to be abstinent until you're married, marry a person who has also been abstinent, and agree to be monogamous...you can still contract HPV. I recently spoke with a OB/GYN about this b/c my husband and I are like that and he quickly pointed out to me that if, Lord forbid, I was ever raped or sexually molested, I could end up with HPV for life. Very scary thought. I'm going to do some more research about it, but I never thought about that.

I just replied on SCL to your confusion. I was not, in any way, implying that it is a sin to send your kids to public school. I was appauled when I read that on a website a few weeks back.
I taught school and plan to again teach once my kids are a little bigger. Too, I have planned to send my oldest son to public kindergarten next year.
I didn't take this decision lightly, though. I consulted many books, people, and of course, I prayed and asked for God's guidance. My husband and I feel led to put him in public and evaluate things year by year.
It's funny because I totally agree with your points about public school. As a matter of fact, I just emailed someone else almost your exact words (before I read your comment) about my feelings about public school. It's nice to know that others feel the same way.
I'm planning a post about that very topic on my other blog.
I'm glad we agree on this...schools need to be changed from the inside out. :) Check out my other blog in the next couple of days for a post on that.
I wish you had asked me before you went off, but I understand. Clearly I wasn't clear enough. My bad. =)

As for Gardasil, I couldn't disagree more. I'm glad you're researching first. I understand that you could be raped or sexually molested, but what are the chances of that happening? Living that way would be to live in constant fear. Proverbs 29:25 says, "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe." I would hate to live that way.
Gardasil has been in the news a lot lately and has been producing some incredibly dangerous side effects. If you and your husband have been exclusive with each other, I think it would be a waste to get a potentially dangerous vaccination just because something "could happen". Prayerfully consider all sides before making a decision. As I always recommend, research, research, research FIRST! I can direct you to many news stories if you like. Many are on this blog. :)

Did you know that flossing your teeth can lower the cause of heart disease?? I read in a Prevention magazine that people who do not floss their teeth are more likely to get heart disease than those who do floss their teeth.

What a small natural thing we can do now to prevent such a terrible thing!!

It's pretty amazing. A little prevention goes a long way!
